Which is more important to keep fit and lose weight, aerobic exercise or strength training?
The strategy of losing fat is to consume it as energy, and there are two ways to consume it; One is to maintain the basal metabolism of life; Another approach is to maintain active exercise metabolism.
Exercise fat metabolism includes two aspects. One is daily activities, such as doing household chores, going to the supermarket to buy groceries, and shopping. These all require additional energy consumption, but they do not have any effect on weight loss. Although they consume additional energy, they still need to eat something throughout the day, which will generate calories. However, daily activities can maintain the body from gaining weight, which is already good. So, in addition to daily activities, one also needs to do some exercise in order to consume more energy.
Exercise has three forms of energy consumption: ATP consumption, glycogen consumption, and fat consumption. Weight loss requires the consumption of fat energy, and the exercise that can directly consume fat is aerobic exercise, which is the scientific basis for weight loss and aerobic exercise.
The same aerobic exercise, performed by different people, has different effects. Many friends have a firsthand experience of this. When two people work out together to lose weight, their exercise style and ability are similar, and even their diet is similar, but the results are really much different. What is this?
Fat cannot be directly consumed, but must first be decomposed into fatty acids and glycerol before it can be consumed and utilized. Glycerin is consumed through the human liver, while fatty acids are consumed through muscles. People with strong muscle working ability have a higher ability to consume fatty acids. So the question arises, how can we improve the working ability of muscles? The answer is strength training.
Although strength training cannot directly use fat energy (strength training consumes glycogen energy), it indirectly improves the efficiency of fat utilization because it improves the working ability of muscles. When you engage in aerobic exercise on the basis of good muscle working ability, the effect of weight loss is even better.
In addition, we also need to consider a question: exercise is just an hour or so thing, but we have 24 hours in a day. Obviously, just doing sports well is still far from enough, as an hour cannot defeat more than 20 hours. How can we do the remaining 20 hours well? In addition to the weightiest diet factor, if the body has a high basal metabolism capacity, it will also help the body consume more fat, which is more conducive to weight loss.
The better basal metabolism is determined by the muscle, which is manifested in two aspects: one is that the composition of the muscle is more, and the other is that the working ability of the muscle is stronger. In addition to the innate genes, the realization of these two points depends on strength training, and there is no other way.
